华侨大学2023年国际中文教师奖学金申请办法
为满足国际社会对日益增长的中文教育类人才的需求，促进世界各国中文教育的发展，助力国际中文教育人才的成长，教育部中外语言交流合作中心（以下简称中心）设立国际中文教师奖学金（以下简称奖学金），聚焦培养合格的海外中文教师。孔子学院、独立设置的孔子课堂，部分汉语考试考点，外国相关教育机构、高校中文师范专业/中文院系、国外有关中文教学行业组织、中国驻外使（领）馆等（以下简称推荐机构）可推荐优秀学生和在职中文教师到华侨大学学习和进修国际中文教育及相关专业。
一、资助对象
1.在中国境外的非中国籍人士；
2.对华友好，无违法犯罪记录，遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度；
3.身心健康，品学兼优；
4.有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作；
5.年龄为16-35周岁（统一以2023年9月1日计）。在职中文教师放宽至45周岁，本科奖学金申请者一般不超过25周岁。
二、奖学金类别及申请条件
第一类：中文师资类项目
1.国际中文教育专业硕士研究生
2023年 9月入学，学制3年，奖学金资助期限为2年，第3年学校不收取学费、住宿费。
具有大学本科学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（五级）210分、HSKK（中级）60 分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。
2.国际中文教育专业本科生
2023年9月入学，资助期限为4年。
具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）210 分、HSKK（中级）60 分。
3.一学年研修生（汉语研修方向）
2023年9月入学，资助期限为11个月。不录取享受过同类奖学金的申请者。汉语研修方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）210 分，提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。
4.一学期研修生（汉语研修方向）
2023年9月、2024年3月入学，资助期限为5个月。不录取护照上有 X1、X2 签证者。汉语研修方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）180 分，具有 HSKK 成绩。
第二类：奖学金线上项目
1.一学年汉语研修线上项目：每年9月或3月入学。一般汉语水平考试成绩需达到HSK（三级）180分，提供HSKK成绩者优先。
2.一学期汉语研修线上项目：每年9月或3月入学。一般需具有汉语水平考试（HSK）成绩（对级别和成绩不作具体要求）。
3.专项线上研修项目：具体申请条件和申请办法请咨询华侨大学。
三、奖学金资助内容及标准
奖学金资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费和综合医疗保险费。
1.学费由学校统筹用于奖学金生的培养与管理，开展文化活动，组织参加汉语考试等。奖学金线上项目仅资助学费。
2.住宿费由学校统筹使用，为学生提供免费宿舍；经奖学金生申请、我校批准，选择校外住宿者，由学校按月或季度发放住宿费，标准为700元人民币/月。
3.生活费本科生、一学年和一学期研修生标准为 2500 元人民币/月；国际中文教育专业硕士生为 3000元人民币/月，由我校按《国际中文教师奖学金管理办法》有关规定发放。
4.综合医疗保险费参照中国教育部来华留学有关规定执行。
四、办理流程
2023年3 月1 日起，申请者可登录中外语言交流合作中心网站（http://www.chinese.cn）国际中文教师奖学金板块申请国际中文教师奖学金。
1.登录网站（http://www.chinese.cn）注册账号，查询推荐机构。
2.填写申请表(接收院校选择“华侨大学”），并上传申请材料，点击“提交”。
4.返回查看申请信息，并关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果。
5.奖学金获得者与华侨大学确认办理来华留学手续，在线打印获奖证书；按华侨大学录取通知书规定的时间入学报到。
截止日期（以北京时间为准）：
1．2023年9 月入学：学生申请截止日期为5月15日，推荐机构、接收院校（华侨大学）审核截止日期为5月25日；
2．2024年3 月入学：学生申请截止日期为11月15日，推荐机构、接收院校（华侨大学）审核截止日期为11月25日。
中心委托专家组集中评审：根据HSK、HSKK 考分和级别，兼顾国别等因素择优资助，于入学前约3个月完成奖学金评审工作，公布评审结果。
五、奖学金申请材料清单
（一）与所有申请者有关的证明材料
1.护照照片页扫描件。
2.HSK、HSKK 成绩报告（有效期两年）扫描件。
3.推荐机构负责人的推荐信。
（二）与学历生有关的证明材料
4.提供最高学历证明（毕业预期证明）和在校学习成绩单。
5.国际中文教育专业硕士须提供两名副教授以上职称导师的推荐信。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议者优先资助。
（三）在职中文教师须附上就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信（可免提交汉语水平考试（HSK）证书）。
（四）在各类汉语桥比赛中获得“国际中文教师奖学金证书”者，登录国际中文教师奖学金网站，凭奖学金证书向目标接收院校提交申请材料。
（五）未满18周岁的申请者，须提交在华监护人署名的委托证明文件。
（六）申请者还须提供我校要求的其他证明材料。
六、其他
1.相关专业培养方案与教学课程，可咨询目标华侨大学。
2.申请者须了解华侨大学的具体招生条件及报名截止时间，按照相关规定提交申请材料。
3.学历生须参加年度评审，详见《国际中文教师奖学金年度评审办法》。
4.相关入学等事宜，请及时联系华侨大学。
5.入学体检不合格、中途退学、及未经许可不按时报到、休学等情况，取消奖学金资格。

Application Guidelines for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship 2023，Huaqiao University
To meet the growing international demand for Chinese language teachers, facilitate Chinese language education around the world, and support the professional development of Chinese language teachers, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) has established the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (hereinafter referred to as the Scholarship) for eligible Chinese language teachers outside of China. Confucius Institutes, independent Confucius Classrooms, selected HSK test centers, foreign educational institutions, Chinese language teacher training programs/Chinese departments at foreign universities, professional associations for Chinese language teaching, Chinese embassies (consulates) abroad (hereinafter collectively referred to as Recommending Institutions) may recommend outstanding students and in-service Chinese language teachers to further their studies in international Chinese language education and related programs at Huaqiao University.
I. ELIGIBILITY
a) Be a non-Chinese citizen currently not in China;
b) Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of Huaqiao University;
c) Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;
d) Be interested in Chinese language education and related work; and
e) Be aged between 16 and 35 years on September 1, 2023. The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45, but those who apply for a scholarship for a Bachelor’s degree shall be younger than 25 under most circumstances.
II. CATEGORIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
A. Chinese Language Teacher Scholarships
a) Scholarship for Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education
The program commences in September 2023. It is a three-year program. The scholarship is provided for for a maximum of two academic years. For the third academic year, applicants can be exempted from tuition fees and accommodation fees by Huaqiao University.
Applicants shall hold a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 5) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an employment contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or proof to the same effect.
b) Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education
The program commences in September 2023, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of four academic years.
Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
c) Scholarship for One-Year Study Program (Chinese Language Study Program)
The program commences in September 2023, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of eleven months. International students who have benefited from similar scholarships are not eligible.
Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.
d) Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program (Chinese Language Study Program)
The program commences either in September 2023 or March 2024, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of five months. Applicants holding the X1/X2 visa category are not eligible.
Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.
B. Scholarships for Online Programs
a) The Online Program for One-Year Chinese Language Study commences in September or March each year. Under most circumstances, a score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3) is required, and priority will be given to those who also provide an HSKK test score.
b) The Online Program for One-Semester Chinese Language Study commences in September or March each year. Under most circumstances, an HSK test score (regardless of level or score) is required.
C) Please consult Huaqiao University for the eligibility and application for Special Online Study Programs.
III. Coverage and Standard for Scholarship
The scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.
a) Tuition is under the overall planning and utilization of Huaqiao University to provide teaching and management of scholarship students organizing cultural and social activities, as well as organizing Chinese language proficiency tests. The scholarship online programs only support tuition fees.
b) Accommodation fee is under the overall planning and utilization of Huaqiao University to provide students with in-campus apartments. Students may also live off-campus upon application and getting permission from Huaqiao University. Students who live off-campus are entitled to accommodation allowance of 700 CNY per person/month paid on a monthly/quarterly basis from Huaqiao University.
c) The monthly Living allowance for undergraduates, one-academic-year study students and one-semester students is 2,500 CNY per person. For MTCSOL student, the monthly allowance is 3,000 CNY per person.
d) Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by Huaqiao University in accordance with relevant regulations of studying in China stipulated by Ministry of Education of China.
IV. APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Online registration will be available from March 1, 2023 on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website (http://www.chinese.cn).
a) Please log on（http://www.chinese.cn）to search for Recommending Institutions and Host Institutions (select Huaqiao University as the Host Institution).
b) Submit application materials online.
c) Track the application process.
d) The successful applicant must confirm with Huaqiao University to go through the procedures of studying in China, print out the scholarship certificate online, and register at the Huaqiao University on the designated date as per the Letter of Admission.
Application Deadlines (Beijing Time)
a) For programs commencing in September, applicants must complete their applications by May 15, and Recommending Institutions and Huaqiao University must complete the review by May 25.
b) For programs commencing in March 2024, applicants must complete their applications by November 15, and Recommending Institutions and Huaqiao University must complete the review by November 25.
CLEC will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. Decisions will be based on HSK and HSKK levels and scores, geographical distribution, and other factors. The results will be published about three months before the program starts.
V. List of Application Materials for the Scholarship
A. For all applicants
a) A scanned copy of the passport photo page;
b) A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK/HSKK tests (within the two-year validity); and
c) A reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution.
B. For degree program applicants
d) A certificate of the highest diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript;
e) Applicants of the Scholarship for a Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education are required to provide two reference letters from professors or associate professors. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an employment contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China.
C. For In-service Chinese language teachers
In-service Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment and a reference letter from the employer and therefore can be exempted from HSK/HSKK certificates.
D. For Chinese Bridge Winners
Applicants who have received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate during Chinese Bridge competitions may submit their application documents along with their scholarship certificates to the Host Institutions directly at the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website.
E. Applicants under 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.
F. Applicants shall provide additional documents as required by Huaqiao University.
VI. MISCELLANEOUS
a) Please contact Huaqiao University for curriculum and course listings.
b) Applicants shall be familiar with the admission criteria and application deadlines of Huaqiao University and submit necessary documents accordingly.
c) Degree students are subject to the annual assessment according to the Annual Assessment Procedures of the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
d) Please contact Huaqiao University for enrollment matters.
e) Students who fail to pass the pre-enrollment medical examination, withdraw from school before completing the program, fail to register at the university without prior permission, or suspend their studies will be disqualified for the scholarship.
